DS-82 Application
The process is the same as a normal application process. However, if you have a life-or-death emergency requiring travel within three business days, you must still complete the DS-82 but skip the mail-in process entirely to present your form, old passport, and official medical or legal proof of the emergency in person at a Regional Passport Agency. While the form remains the same as a standard renewal, this emergency application is treated with the highest priority and processed immediately to ensure you can travel without delay.
